Club salad
When we were newlyweds, Sean and I often picked up cartons of crab salad from the deli, and snacked with crackers while watching movies and chatting after work. We loved club salads and enjoyed it like this for many years.
After meeting her friend Debbie while teaching her daughter Amanda, I learned how incredibly easy it can be to make this deli staple batch. After that, the salad at the deli lost all of its charm.
Was it just made in all the right amounts? It is pure crab happiness.

Easy Club Salad
To make this light and refreshing crab salad, you need the following ingredients:
Imitation Crab Meat Celery Black Olive Red or Green Onion Mayonnaise Lemon Dilpaprika Kosher Salt Black Pepper

You can certainly make this with real crab meat, but if you’ve ever had a Deli Club Salad, copycat crab meat is something you’ve had before. The difference in cost is about 8-10 times more for actual crab and imitation.
Mimic Crab – also known as Sourimie – minced whitefish, usually made from Alaskan Pollack. It’s not actually crab, but it’s tasty and very economical.

How to make club salad
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, dill, paprika, salt and pepper.

Add the crab meat, celery, olives and onion to the bowl. Mix well and thoroughly coat. Cover and refrigerate until ready.
Serve with lettuce wrap or a cracker of your choice. This will keep in the fridge well for several days.

Whether this will be served in a fork-dried scrub with Mai Tai cocktail or strawberry lemonade. This is a flavor of an old-fashioned classic club salad and is still appealing to both of us. For a simpler seafood salad, try this Italian shrimp salad or this fantastic chopped salad with shrimp, bacon and blue cheese.
