If you’re looking for a special dessert, this is one! A delicious classic twist!
If you like this dish, you’ll love the old-fashioned banana pudding. This is a classic dessert that never disrupts your style.
❤️ I love this recipe
We love banana pudding so we wanted to try it with strawberries! I wasn’t disappointed. It was very refreshing, very good and great for any occasion. This is great for Easter and is very beautiful. It’s great to combine homemade pudding with strawberries, vanilla wafers and meringues!
Swap and add
Some people use instant pudding to make pudding, but we have always liked to make this dish from scratch. Others would rather place whipped cream on top instead of meringue. If you’re not a fan of meringue, it’s an option. I also think the bananas and strawberries are delicious.
Tips
You should cook until the pudding mixture thickens and becomes a soup. Always stir to prevent it from sticking to cooking. This pudding is also served hot or cold. We usually serve it as soon as we leave the oven (it’s inside the oven and browns the meringue). Then enjoy the next day coldly. We enjoy both ways.

Strawberry pudding
This is a great twist on the classics, old fashioned. If you like banana pudding, try this strawberry version!
Meringue ingredients
4 Egg white1/2 cup sugar1 Small spoons Vanilla flavor
The 2-quart casserole dish has a layer of vanilla wafers and strawberries. (I use 10 wafers and turn the sides of the bowl just because I think it’s quite this way).
In a pot on the stove, mix the whisk, salt, flour, egg yolk and milk. Cook over medium heat, stir continuously with a whisk, and stir until thick, about 7 or 8 minutes. (It burns very easily, so be sure to stir it) Remove from the stove and stir in the vanilla flavoring. Pour onto the wafer and strawberries.
Meringue’s instructions
Brace the egg whites high until hard peaks and peaks form. Add the sugar and vanilla and beat the egg whites. Bake in a 350-degree oven until spread over the pudding and brown. (I just put it under the broiler until I turned it brown like that).
