I have been buying chocolate advent calendars from Aldi for the past few years. This is one of my son’s favorite gifts for the holiday season. Aldi customers’ favorite advent calendar is back on shelves. I buy one (or two!) because they don’t last very long.
Aldi’s Moserroth Chocolate Advent Calendar
Why I love Aldi’s Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar
My son looks forward to the chocolate advent calendar every year. I’ve tried others, but the best chocolate advent calendar is definitely the one from Aldi. My favorite advent calendar from Aldi is the Moser Roth Chocolate Advent Calendar. Aldi imports 24 deluxe truffles (12 flavors) from Belgium, and you’ll love knowing that every bite is genuine Belgian chocolate.
We think the Chocolate Advent Calendar is an absolute bargain at only $17.99. They range from dark chocolate mice to white coffee, salted caramel and milk chocolate.

How to enjoy Aldi’s Moserroth Chocolate Advent Calendar (contains spoilers!)
This year, the chocolate advent calendar will be paired with both Aldi’s wine and cheese advent calendars. That’s wonderful. To get an idea of how this year’s calendar is shaping up, we sampled three randomly selected days of chocolate, wine, and cheese.
On the first day, a milk chocolate shell is filled with hazelnut praline, with a whole caramelized hazelnut in the middle. It reminded me of Nutella. Aldi is pairing it with Meridia California Red Zinfandel in its wine calendar and truffle cheddar in its cheese calendar.
The wine and chocolate were a perfect pairing. The smooth, low-tannin wine melted the dreamy milk chocolate in my mouth.
Day 4 features leaf-shaped dark chocolate truffles and a rich chocolate ganache filling. I prefer dark chocolate, but this one is worth tasting. Dark yet balanced, the truffle filling has the perfect creamy texture. Aldi pairs it with South African Sauvignon Blanc. Wine and cheese don’t clash, but they’re not an ideal pairing. However, the hard goat cheese accentuates the rich, deep flavor of the dark chocolate.
Day 19 featured dark chocolate raspberry truffles. This truffle is a fruit lover’s dream. The deep, dark ganache is complemented by sweet and tart raspberries. You might end up eating an entire box of chocolates. Aldi paired it with Shadow Dance Red Blend, a Spanish red wine. This chocolate and wine combination is my favorite. The chocolate really complemented the fruity notes of the wine. The cheese was a whiskey cheddar, which didn’t compete with the chocolate, but it wasn’t a perfect combination.
I can’t wait to taste the remaining 21 days of chocolate. Perfect for spicing up the holiday season.
