This champagne vinaigrette is light, light and a bit sweet thanks to hints of honey and fresh orange juice. It’s an easy way to boost your salad!

We recently received thoughtful gifts from some amazing friends from a beautiful bottle of oil and vinegar from a charming store in Carmel Valley. One of them, Champagne Mimosa Vinegar, basically blew my mind away and encouraged me to create this recipe. It was like a combination of champagne and orange juice and made me think.

I found that adding fresh orange juice and honey to the champagne vinegar will create this light and lovely champagne vinaigrette that I’m currently obsessed with. There’s no need to push specialized materials down. You should be able to find everything you need for this simple vinaigrette at the grocery store.

Ingredient Notes

Champagne vinegar, olive oil, half an orange color, and other ingredients in a small bowl with text overlays.

Champagne Vinegar: Champagne Vinegar is a mild, slightly fruity vinegar. It has a lighter flavor than other vinegars, making it perfect for such delicate dressings. You can usually find it at grocery stores and on Amazon. It can be a bit expensive, but I think it’s worth the investment. If you try it, there’s no problem using it in future batches of salad dressing. Olive Oil: This is one of the recipes that really make a difference by using quality extra virgin olive oil. Its rich and robust flavor adds depth to the vinaigrette, making it worth reaching for something good. Garlic: I’m all looking for shortcuts in the kitchen, but when it comes to fresh recipes like this, it’s worth the effort to use fresh garlic. The flavor is brighter and more pronounced compared to pre-ripe garlic from the jar.

How to make champagne vinaigrette

Making this vinaigrette is not easy! Combine all the ingredients in a Mason jar or airtight container to secure the lid and give it a good shaking. When shaking, the mixture emulsifies and slightly thickens, creating a smooth, well-maintained dressing.

You can also whisk everything together in a bowl if you like, but there is no exact same body.

It is recommended to start with the amount of honey that is called in the recipe. Taste it and add a little more if you want a sweeter dressing.

How to Use Champagne Vinaigrette

This versatile dressing adds a bright, tangy flavor to any type of salad. It’s especially tasty with soft greens, including butter lettuce, baby spinach, arugula and spring green mix. Drizzle over the salad with fresh fruit (such as mandarin oranges or strawberries), nuts and a little crushed feta or goat cheese for a simple, flavorful combination.

Marinated:

This vinaigrette makes a great light marinade for chicken and fish. Marinate the chicken for up to 6 hours and soak it in the flavor. For fish, brush them for tangy hints of citrus fruit before grilling or roasting.

Storage Tips

I use a mason jar to store it in a mix of salad dressings. It’s easy and keeps everything fresh. You can use the airtight container you have at hand.

Store the champagne vinaigrette in the fridge. Keep in mind that it can get a little thicker when cooled. If that occurs, sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before use. Give a good shaking for re-emulsify.

Instructions
