Fresh and creamy strawberry ice cream is littered with nerd candies to create this super fun nerd ice cream. A totally attractive child and adult favorite.

When I came across a question about nerd ice cream a while ago, I was immediately intrigued. Geek candy? I don’t think I’ve eaten otaku since middle school – at least I don’t remember. Well, I’m happy to tell you that I’m once again hooked on these crispy, sweet, tart candies. I can’t stop eating snacks now!

And if you haven’t even had nerdy candies since you were a kid, it’s time to change it. (Also, don’t buy it from that link, I only offer it to visual aides. Pick up a box of $1 candy from the grocery store.)

Apparently there was a grape-flavored ice cream with nerdy candies. Side notes – We found there to be debate about what the ice cream flavor actually was, but the ice cream was a deep purple colour.

So, I’ve tried a few different ideas for grape ice cream and let’s say I can appreciate you saving it. If I nail it, I’ll let you know.

I then tried to add some nerdy candies to my best batch of vanilla ice cream to date. It was tasty and my husband and boy enjoyed it. But that didn’t “amazing” me.

Finally, I decided to add a nerd to my old-fashioned batch of strawberry ice cream. oh. my. words. What a great combination this was!

The bright fresh strawberry flavor is mixed into the ice cream, making it perfect for the strawberry flavor of nerd candies. After making this batch of ice cream, I repeatedly returned to the freezer to “test” the flavors again.

This ice cream is as easy to make as possible. Mix the strawberries, sugar, salt, vanilla, milk and cream until smooth and pour the mixture into the ice cream maker. When the ice cream is about to stir, pour the candy into the mix.
