Potato Chip Salad is a summer recipe that I can’t stop making

Recently, while sitting at Mr. Lyon’s bar, a Palm Springs facility, I spyed on what was shoved into the bottom of the Happy Hour menu. We ordered it immediately. Why can’t you make a name like “Potato Chip Salad”?

My husband was immediately skeptical of seeing it contained not one but two types of fruit. He’s not a huge fan of the flavorful salad fruits, but he couldn’t even deny the magic of being a potato chip salad. Salty, sweet, tangy and creamy, crunchy – it had everything.

I quickly began to think about how to replicate a unique salad at home. Not only do they recreate, but they also simplify the ingredient list and improve by adding a slightly tasty punch (cheese!). And more potato chips. If you call this potato chip salad, it’s for a better delivery.

As a result, I’ll continue with the salad I’ve made three times throughout the summer. It’s everything I want in a summer salad and is excellent with grilled dishes like hot dogs, grilled chicken and pulled pork. They’ll blow everyone away with their next summer gathering or potluck.

Simply recipe / Frank Tiu

Key elements of potato chip salad

Chips: Look for salt and vinegar here and add a nice hit of sourness and salt to the salad. I like ridges, but you do. If you want to run out of half a bag of family-sized chips, plain, salt and pepper, or pickled chips all work well. Vegetables: Iceberg lettuce is a must. Not only does it have the elastic crunch you need for this salad, but it doesn’t interfere with other flavors. Fruit: Trust me here. My husband is also skeptical and he loves this salad. Choose a crisp apple that doesn’t turn brown too quickly. I like honeycrisp. For the grapes, I want a seedless red grape for a nice juicy snap. Green grapes also work. Cheese: When I first tasted the salad that inspired this recipe, I felt that it was missing something. It’s something blue cheese. It turns it into a slightly blue cheese dressing situation and pairs perfectly with apples and grapes. Depending on your preference, you can go calm or funky. If you really don’t mind blue cheese, try crushed goat cheese.
Dressing: I used a simple sour cream dressing that combines very well with fruit, lettuce, chips (such as sour cream dip), and cheese. It takes less than 5 minutes to make it.

2 A large spoon Extra virgin olive oil

3/4 Small spoons Kosher salt

1/2 Small spoons It’s fresh Grinded black pepper

1/2 Small spoons Garlic powder

For salad

1 Small head Iceberg lettuce (About 1 lb))

2 Medium AppleLike honeycrisp

3/4~1 lb Seedless red grapes

5 Ounce Blue cheesecollapsed

5-6 Ounce Salt and vinegared potato chips (3/4 of a 7.5 oz bag)

Make a dressing:

Place the lid in a jar with sour cream, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add 1 tablespoon of water and shake well. If necessary, thin a tablespoon of water slightly. The dressing should be creamy, thick and easy to pour.

Prepare the ingredients for the salad:

It is made with lettuce as the core and almost chop. Add to a large bowl. Cut the apples into thin slices and halve the grapes. Add both to the bowl.

Assembly and Serve:

When ready, add about 2/3 of the dressing to the bowl. Add dressings if necessary (all may be used). Add blue cheese. Add some potato chips, add almost a handful, almost crumbling, reserve a few for garnishing. It’s easy to throw just for dispensing. Decorate and eat immediately.
