This easy no-bake dessert is made with layers of delicious angel food cake and cherry pie filling. Add these cherries in the snow to your holiday dessert list.
❤️Why I love this recipe
We love holiday recipes, but we love them even more when they’re so easy. This is one of them, and it’s delicious. No baking required and takes no time at all to assemble. The longest part of the process is chilling in the refrigerator for an hour. I think the longer it sits in the fridge, the tastier it will be!
Exchange and addition
You can also replace the heavy cream with whole milk. You can also vary the pie filling. This recipe with blueberries is loved by many. If you are not a fan of angel food cake, you can make a white cake (using a mix) and cut it into squares. You can also sprinkle coconut on top!
Questions and other variations
Yes, you can make them in advance. It’s better the next day. You can also make it using low-fat cream cheese, low-fat Cool Whip, and low-fat pie filling (or no sugar).
How about a holiday display? Make in a trifle bowl and layer with angel food cake and pie filling. You can also serve them in individual parfait glasses or cute holiday mugs.

cherries in the snow
This no-bake dessert is perfect for the holiday season. It comes together very quickly and only requires an hour of chilling. This is a winner!
Cut angel food cake into 1-inch squares and set aside.
Combine cream cheese, sugar, cream, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl with a mixer. Mix for 3-4 minutes or until it starts to thicken slightly.
Add Cool Whip and stir. Fold in the angel food cake pieces, making sure everything is mixed together. Spread cake mixture into a 9×13 pan.
Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top, spreading it out evenly. Place in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to firm up. Serve chilled.
