Millionaire pie slices topped with whipped cream and cherry on a plate, with the rest of the pie in the background.

The billionaire pie is a cool, creamy icebox pie filled with sweetly crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries, crispy pecans and coconut. It’s decadent, fruity, just a bakeless dessert to move on for a gathering!

If you have one pie, they will ask you to bring the food this summer, this is it. And if you’re looking for a tasty way to give your oven a break, try this strawberry lemon icebox pie and creamy marshmallow chocolate pie.

Millionaire pie slices topped with whipped cream and cherry on a plate, with the rest of the pie in the background.

The billionaire pie, derived from the Southern Province, is a creamy, baked-free pie, named after the rich, decadent fillings of whipped toppings, crispy pecans and crushed pineapple. Also known as a billionaire pie or a billion dollar pie, it takes a few minutes to prepare and no oven required! This recipe is folded with sweet maraschino cherries and coconuts, taking them to the next level, and becomes even decadent with each bite.

Why do you like this billionaire’s pyre recipe?

Thick, sliceable filling. This recipe contains tangy lemon juice. Combined with sweetened condensed milk, it helps to thicken the filling of smoother slices. Daily ingredients. This billionaire pie tastes like a million dollars, but makes it in minutes from daily pantry ingredients. This recipe was published in the 1930s and is relatively affordable as it uses ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk and canned pineapple. There is no baking. Perhaps this recipe only requires zero baking and a few minutes to prepare. This pie requires time to cool later, making it the perfect dessert to make first. It’s great at any time of the year. Simply add whipped cream toppings before serving.

What you need

Depending on who you ask, the recipe we make today is a billionaire pie, as it contains cherry and coconut. Either way, there are some brief notes on these and other ingredients. Scroll to the recipe card in the printable ingredients list and scroll through recipe cards by amount.

Graham Cracker Crust – You can make simple graham cracker crusts from store-bought or homemade graham crackers, crushed into fine bread crusts. If the time is short, store-bought graham cracker crusts will also work perfectly. Crushed Pineapple – Drain the canned pineapple well to avoid watery filling. Sweetened Condensed Milk – Do not confuse it with normal condensed or evaporated milk that is not penetrated. Maraschino Cherries – Chop the cherries and reserve 1 tablespoon of juice. Another option is to replace the cherries with a stuffed homemade cherry pie. Shredded Coconut – This can be sweet, not smashed, toasted, or plain. Pecans – Or replace the pecans with crunchy chopped walnuts instead. You can also rule them out to make this pie nut-free. Lemon Juice – I highly recommend freshly squeezed lemon juice as it adds a considerable amount. You will experience the difference. Whipped cream – split and as a filling and topping for a pie. You can use homemade whipped cream or store-bought items. A cool thawed whip tub also works.

How to make a billionaire pie

Refrigerated. Spread the pie stuffing onto the prepared graham cracker crust. Press the plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pie to seal it and place it in the fridge. This pie should be chilled for at least 4 hours, but it is best to chill overnight. Decorate and serve. When ready to serve, wrap the pie and garnish the top with fresh whipped cream and maraschino cherries.

Recipe Tips

Do not skip lemon juice. Lemon juice helps with the pie filling set, so don’t skip or replace it with this recipe. Let the pie cool long enough. You can leave this billionaire pie in the fridge overnight, but make sure it is cooled for at least 4 hours to ensure proper setup. If you slice it quickly, the serving will be soup. It uses full fat materials. I recommend the silkiest, creamiest pie filling with full fat sweetened condensed milk and whipped cream. Low-fat ingredients contain more water, and the pie may not be able to set up properly.

Storage method

Refrigerated. If you’re not serving it, store this billionaire pie in the fridge airtight. This will keep the filling firmly. Freeze. To freeze the pie, remove the whipped cream topping and press the layer of wrap directly onto the top of the pie. Next, wrap the entire pie in a second layer of wrap or foil. Freeze for up to 2 months and thaw the billionaire pie in the fridge before serving.
