As you may have noticed, I really love the blueberry season. I recently made blueberry chia pudding, blueberry iced tea, blueberry almond flour muffins, blueberry oatmeal bar, blueberry simple syrup, and even a blueberry martini. I continue doing it with these blueberry popsicles.

Why do you like this simple homemade popsicle recipe?

Simple ingredients. These delicious popsicles only come in four ingredients. It’s quick and easy. The most difficult part of this blueberry popsicle recipe is that they’re waiting for them to freeze! Brighten up fresh berries, stir in the yogurt and place in the freezer for the perfect summer treat. Kids love them! health. I love making my own popsicles with fresh fruit. (Try my strawberry popsicle recipe too). Unlike grocery store ice pops, these healthy popsicles are made with natural ingredients. There is no refined sugar or artificial coloring. And Greek yogurt means these popsicles are packed with protein. They are delicious, guilt-free treats, and of course naturally gluten-free.

blueberry. You can use fresh or frozen blueberries. If you use frozen berries, there is no need to thaw them. Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is very thick and tangy and I like to make creamy popsicles. However, you can use regular yogurt, but the popsicles are still tasty. Maple syrup. If your blueberries are sweet enough for you, you can skip the addition of pure maple syrup. If you prefer sugar-free popsicles, we recommend tasting the blueberry puree before adding maple syrup. Vanilla extract. Vanilla adds a deep flavor note to these blueberry yogurt popsicles. Be sure to use only pure vanilla extracts.

How to make blueberry popsicles

In a blender or food processor, process maple syrup (if used) and vanilla extract until smooth (using magic bullets). Pair blueberry puree with yogurt in a bowl.

Pour the popsicle mixture into the mold. Insert the popsicle stick.

Cover the popsicle mold and freeze for 4 hours or overnight. Let the homemade popsicles sit at room temperature for 5 minutes or loosen from mold to mold under warm water.

Place frozen popsicles in a resealable frozen bag or airtight container and freeze for up to six months.

FAQ

What happens if there is no popsicle shaped?

I like these silicone ice pop molds for homemade fruit popsicles. They are cheap and easy to use, and can be in the oven to double as a cake pop mold. Silicone is flexible so place the mold in the tray before filling. If you don’t have a popsicle shape, you can use a small paper cup, such as a Dixie cup. Fill the cup and freeze for 2 hours. Next, insert a wooden popsicle stick into each one before returning to the freezer.

How can I make popsicles creamy instead of ice?

This popsicle recipe creamy yogurt has a low amount of moisture and is less likely to turn ice when frozen. Some people recommend adding teaspoons of cornstarch to the popsicle mixture before freezing. However, you can also leave the popsicles at room temperature for 5 minutes to soften them.
