If you’ve never browned butter before, I need to warn you: you want to move it forward to all desserts, not just treating these amazing brown butter rice creampies! Here’s why you should make this simple dessert as quickly as possible:
It’s quick and easy. The crispy, chewy rice creampie snack is a very blessing. The oven and the fuss are ready in a short amount of time. Brown butter. Browning butter is a short step that adds attractive toast nuts to almost any recipe. The flavor is very similar to toffee, with its rich caramel aroma. Using the same browning method, bring out the flavor of brown butter bourbon chocolate chip cookies. It’s the best! Perfect for sharing. I love bringing these to fall gatherings and holiday parties (but actually, on any occasion). Like other dessert bar recipes, they delight the full crowd.

What you need
The beauty of rice creampie treat recipes is that they only require five ingredients! I’ve added cinnamon to these brown buttery rice creampie treats so I’m worried about it, but it gives you drift. Butter – salted or saltless. Marshmallows – I use mini marshmallows as it melts more easily. I also love folding the whole marshmallow into a crispy treat mix through the finished snack. Vanilla and Salt – to enhance and balance the flavor. Use pure vanilla extract. Cinnamon – There is no better pair with brown butter than cozy cinnamon. You can also use other warm spices, such as nutmeg or pumpkin pie spices. Rice Christie Cereal – Classic. Name Brand Rice Crispie or Store Brand can be used. This recipe works with other cereals too. I was hoping to try a similar version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Crispy Treat!

How to make a rice creampie snack
Because my original Krispie Treats are so easy. The steps to make these brown butter rice creampie treats are almost the same. The only difference is that after the butter has melted, burn the butter for 1-2 minutes. Continue below and scroll down to the recipe card for printable instructions.



Turn the butter brown. Remove a large pot and melt the butter over medium heat. As it starts to boil, the butter turns brown and constantly stirs, starting to smell the nuts. Add marshmallows. Once the butter is dark amber, stir in 8 cups of marshmallows. Continue stirring until the marshmallows have completely dissolved.



Put it all together. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla, salt and cinnamon. Then gently fold the cereal along with the excess mini marshmallows. Fill the pot. Push the Krispie Treat mixture into a square pan lined with evenly oiled foil. Then, chill the treat and set it before sliced into squares. enjoy!

Recipe Tips and Variations
Use fresh marshmallows. Old marshmallows don’t melt that well. The fresher the better. Do not overheat the marshmallow mixture. This is the basic rule for rice creampie treat making. Overheating marshmallows is similar to overheating homemade caramel. The more you cook the sugar, the harder it becomes! To avoid hard rice creampie treats, remove the pan from the heat as soon as the marshmallows have completely melted. Don’t crush the crispy. This applies when you are stirring the rice creampie into the marshmallows and then pushing the mixture into the pan. I want to be as kind as possible to avoid compact, rich crispy snacks. Let the snack cool. Resist the urge to cut into your marshmallow treat before they are completely cooled. Otherwise they’ll be too broody. It is recommended to set for at least 1-2 hours before slicing. Change the spices. As mentioned in the Ingredients section, you can exchange cinnamon for another cozy spice. Storage method
At room temperature. These brown butter rice creamy treats can be airtight at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze. Alternatively, you can freeze these crispy treats for up to 3 months. Wrap them in a double layer of plastic wrap or place in a freezer bag and thaw the bar at room temperature before serving.

5 tablespoons butter
10 cups Mini marshmallow, split
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp Kosher salt
1 tsp cinnamon
6 cups Rice Christie Serial
Arrange 9×9 pans in aluminum foil and lightly coat them with non-stick spray. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Once it melts, the butter starts to boil and brown, and continue to cook the butter, stirring constantly. Once the butter is amber colour, add 8 cups of marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, salt and cinnamon. Stir in the cereal immediately until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows. Pour the mixture into the prepared bread and press evenly. Allow the Krispie treat to cool completely and then cut into squares.

Store at room temperature for up to 3 days for maximum freshness.
