Recipe overview

Why do you like it: If it’s Sunday (or other days) and you need a chicken fix, sprinkle this tic fill sauce! You’ll need six kitchen staples to make it.

Time taken: 5 minutes + 30 minutes Cold
Equipment required: Small bowl
Serving: 7

The Chick Fill Sauce is a slightly smoky, sweet and creamy sauce, and is dedicated (some might say it’s fanatic!). If you know, you know – it’s a good thing. Think of the chicken version of Big Mac sauce, everything as the secret sauce that will taste better.

Whether you’re enjoying it as a crunchy air fryer chicken nugget dip, or drizzling over a sandwich or pairing it with fries, this is a charming sauce that will come back!

Copy Cat Chick Fillsauce (DIY)

Chick fill sauce, whenever you need it. Sometimes there are Sundays where that drive-through line is quite long and then Chickfill A is closed! This recipe allows you to use that fantastic sauce on demand so you can use it for whatever you like. (I like to drizzle it over BBQ salmon instead of the regular BBQ sauce!)

Simple ingredients, big flavor. This imitation recipe requires only six ingredients, but you probably have one in your kitchen. It’s definitely one of the sauces that is bigger than the sum of the portions!

Tastes like the real thing. Some imitation recipes are pale imitations of the original, but I’ve tested this homemade tic filler sauce side by side and on a real deal. I’ve adjusted the original recipe, but I can honestly say that this imitation sauce is a spot on dupe that won’t disappoint!

A bowl of creamy dipping sauce is surrounded by waffle fries and breaded chicken nuggets on a plate.

Ingredient Notes

Mayonnaise: This is why the Chickfill sauce is creamy. Use your favorite brand. BBQ Sauce: Uses Stubb’s sticky sweet BBQ sauce. You can use your favorite brand, but keep in mind that different types of barbecue sauces will affect the flavor of your homemade chick fill sauce. Yellow Mustard and Dijon Mustard: Two types of mustard add a 1-2 punch that will make this sauce taste authentic. I tested it with plain yellow mustard only, but it’s not the same. Honey: Honey is used for its distinctive sweetness in the sauce. If you don’t have honey in your pantry, you can replace regular sugar. Smoked Paprika: I found that I should test the sauce without smoked paprika and build it based on the smokyness of the barbecue sauce. You may be able to skip the smoked paprika, especially if you use a smoky barbecue sauce.

How to make tick filler sauce

mix. Place all the ingredients in a small bowl until the sauce is smooth. Taste the sauce and taste as needed.

Chill. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to mix in the flavors. When I tested the sauce, I found that the flavor really improved after it cooled.

What to offer with chick fill sauce

Hands dip the waffle-cut French fries in a bowl of creamy orange tic fill dipping sauce.

Store your homemade tic fill sauce in the fridge and use within a week. Do not freeze this recipe. Mayo tends to separate when frozen and thawed.

More homemade sauce recipes

In a small bowl, whisk all the ingredients together.

½ cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, 1 tablespoon of yellow mustard, 1 tablespoon of Dijon Mustard, ½ tsp smoked paprika

Desired flavor and season.

For the best flavor, place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Serve as a chicken bid, fries, sandwiches or dipping sauce!

Recipe Variations: I’ve tested this recipe several times and compared it side-by-side with the Commercial Chickfill A brand to make sure it’s perfect. That said, variations from the recipes written will change the flavor of the final result. Having two types of mustard may seem redundant, but both are really necessary for its authentic taste. BBQ Sauce: Tested with Stubb’s sticky sweet BBQ sauce. I recommend the sweet and smoky BBQ sauce. Avoid BBQ sauce with additional or unique flavors (such as whiskey).
