This healthy Mexican bean dip can be made with instant pot refraid beans, slow cooker refraid beans, or canned refraid beans!

Rebuilt the instant pot in a white bowl topped with cheese, jalapeño and quiranto.

Re-bean dip variation

Riff release beans soak in cream cheese

This bean dip recipe is for re-bone bean dips without cream cheese, but if it’s your jam, you can easily mix some. To make cream cheese bean dip, add 4 oz. Soften the beans with soft cream cheese before heating. Cream cheese melts when the beans get hot.

Layered Refraid Bean Dip

When serving a large crowd, it may make sense to make more “layered bean dip” to make it easier to serve. Grab a large casserole dish and start with the beans that have been rebuilt. Add sour cream and salsa on top of the beans, followed by other toppings of your choice.

Our recipes usually contain spices, cumin and chili powder, which are used in real Mexican recipes. To increase the taco flavor, add 1-2 tablespoons of chicken taco seasoning.

How long can homemade bean dip stay in the fridge?

If you have any remaining bean dips, transfer them to an airtight container and place them in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Is Bean Dip hot or cold?

There is no wrong way to eat this rebuilt bean dip so there is no wrong way to eat wreaths.

1 batch Instant pot Riff Release Beans or 1/2 Batch Slow Cooker Refried Beans or (2) 15 oz. Canned Reflat Beans (*Note 1)1 TBSP Fresh lime juice (*Note 2)2 cloves Garlic, grated1 Small spoons Chili powder1 Small spoons Ground Cumin (*Note 2)⅛ Small spoons Salt + more flavor1 Avocado, diced1 Roman tomatoes diced¼ cup Red onion or pickled red onion, finely cut into pieces¼ cup Queso Fresco, Oaxaca, or Cotilla cheeseAir Fryer Tortilla Chips or Shop-Bought Tortilla Chips

Instructions

Make instant pot refraid beans, slow cooker refraid beans, or canned beans. If you are using canned food, heat it over medium heat in a saucepan on the stove until it’s hot.

Stir in the lime juice, garlic, chili powder, ground cumin and salt. Add flavor and additional seasonings if necessary.

Transfer to a shallow dish and select avocado, tomato, onion, cheese, cilantro and other toppings. Serve with tortilla chips.

Note 1 – Bean options include one batch of instant pot refried beans, 1/2 batch of slow cooker refried beans or (2) 15 oz. Canned Refraid Beans.
Note 2 – If you are using canned food, you may need additional lime juice and cumin.
