This White Christmas Margarita is creamy, festive, and ready in minutes. Made with tequila, coconut cream, and white cranberry juice, this holiday margarita is perfect for Christmas parties and winter entertaining.

Snowy White Christmas Margarita Cocktail
The traditional margarita is all about tequila, lime, and orange liqueur. This White Christmas Margarita is a festive holiday version made with tequila, coconut rum, white cranberry juice, fresh lime, and coconut cream. It has a slightly sweet, creamy, citrus scent and a snowy white color, making it perfect for winter parties. The sanding sugar on the edges looks beautiful and gorgeous. Combine with granulated sugar for even more shine. The white color, rosemary sprigs, and cranberries are perfect for Christmas Eve, holiday entertaining, and even New Year’s, like in my Christmas Cranberry Mimosa and Sugar Cookie Martini.

Why you’ll love it
Creamy but tastes like a margarita! Holiday Flavor Combination: Coconut + White Cranberry + Lime gives you a winter snowy vibe without the heavy spices. It feels festive but refreshing. Super easy and takes 5 minutes to prepare: no mixers, no syrups, and no complicated steps. This is my go-to easy holiday cocktail when guests show up unexpectedly. Flexible alcohol options: Depending on the number of people, you can prioritize tequila or use coconut rum instead (great for guests who “don’t like tequila”). If you are hosting a party, we offer recipes for both single drinks and batch versions.

Ingredient breakdown and substitutes
Tequila (Silver/Blanco): I used Blanco Tequila because it’s clean and refreshing and keeps the drink bright. Reposado is also effective, adding warmth and color. Coconut Rum: Adds a hint of sweetness and holiday coconut flavor. If you want it to be less sweet, you can reduce the sweetness a little and add more tequila. Orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier): Either can be used. Cointreau is lighter and has more citrus aromas up front. Grand Marnier makes it richer and deeper. White cranberry juice: This keeps the drink light and bright. Regular cranberry juice will work, but it will turn the cocktail pink. Coconut cream: This is the key to the creamy, snowy texture. Mix well. If it’s fresh from the can, it may be clumpy. Fresh lime juice: I always squeeze it fresh. It balances the coconut and prevents your margarita from tasting flat. Sugar rim: I like to mix sanding sugar with regular sugar to get a sparkle without being too crunchy. Garnish: Fresh cranberries and rosemary make this holiday cocktail look like it came straight off a bar menu.

The perfect tequila for a white Christmas margarita
For this recipe, use Blanco (Silver) Tequila. It keeps the flavor clean and lets the coconut and cranberries shine. My favorite margarita is a smooth, affordable swing for parties. Avoid anything heavily aged or smoky. It competes with coconut. Tip: If you’re making a large batch for a Christmas party, choose something smooth and affordable. There’s no need to splash out on fancy tequila here.

How to make a big batch of White Christmas Margaritas (the perfect way to party)
Includes: 8 cocktails. Preparation time: 5 minutes. Total Time: 5 minutes First, prepare the glass. Place a lime wedge on the rim of each glass and dip into sanding sugar mixed with granulated sugar. Let’s set it aside. Mix the batch: In a large pitcher or drink dispenser, add tequila, coconut rum, orange liqueur, white cranberry juice, coconut cream, and fresh lime juice. Stir well. I like to use a whisk or long spoon to mix the coconut cream thoroughly to keep it smooth. Chill before serving: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This keeps the flavor bright without diluting the water. To serve: Fill prepared glass with fresh ice, top with margarita, garnish with cranberries and rosemary, and serve immediately.
