These Pork Mac and Cheese Sliders are layered with creamy macaroni and cheese, seasoned shredded pork, and melted American cheese on a soft Hawaiian roll, then baked until golden brown and buttery. Hearty, cheesy, and easy to slice and serve, they’re perfect for game day, casual dinners, or to quickly feed a hungry crowd.

Ingredient memo
Hawaiian Rolls – Soft and slightly sweet rolls make the perfect base. Having them connected will make assembling the slider much easier. Refrigerated seasoned shredded pork – I used Royce. Flavorful, tender, and a time saver. Pork from leftovers also works well here. Prepared Macaroni and Cheese – I used Bob Evans Refrigerated Macaroni and Cheese. It bakes up creamy and spreads easily over the rolls. American Cheese Slices – Classic Melt Factor. The slices create a smooth layer of cheese and help hold it all together. Shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese – adds an extra cheesy flavor and a slightly sharp finish. Butter + Stone Ground Mustard – Brush the top rolls before baking. It adds richness and subtle acidity to wake everything up.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
Step 2: Slice the roll
Slice horizontally across the slab, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.

Step 4: Add pork and cheese
Spread the seasoned shredded pork evenly over the mac and cheese. Top with slices of American cheese.

Step 5: Add top bun and bake
Place the top bun on top of the slider. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Brush + Finish Baking
Mix stone-ground mustard and melted butter. Brush it onto the buns and sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top. Bake uncovered for 10 minutes until golden brown.

Step 7: Slice and serve
Cut each roll to create individual sliders and serve warm.

tips for success
Spread the mac and cheese evenly so all sliders have a creamy layer. Warm pork spreads easier and creates a more even layer. Keep the rolls connected during assembly to speed up preparation. Covering with foil when first baking will keep the top soft until the filling is hot. Slice with a serrated knife to get nice sliders.

what to eat with pork mac and cheese sliders
These sliders are rich and hearty, so a fresh or crunchy side will balance everything out nicely.
Coleslaw – The crispy texture and tangy dressing punch through the cheese sliders. Pasta Salad – A perfect cold side for parties and potlucks. Baked Beans – A classic comforting combination with the flavors of pulled pork. Air Fryer French Fries – Perfect if you want a hearty game day. Pickle Spear – Bright acidity with richness and balance.
FAQ:
What kind of pork is suitable for these sliders?
Seasoned shredded or pulled pork is best. You can use refrigerated options like Royce or slow-cooked leftover pork for added flavor.
Can I make pork mac and cheese sliders in advance?
Sliders can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance, covered and refrigerated. For the best texture, bake just before serving.
How can I prevent my slider from getting wet?
Be careful not to make the mac and cheese runny and don’t overload the layers. Bake with a lid on first and then uncovered to soften the surface and prevent it from becoming soggy.
Can you freeze macaroni and cheese sliders?
yes. Assemble sliders without baking, wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and bake as directed.
Cheesy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, these pork mac and cheese sliders will disappear in no time. Make a tray and watch them go. Printable recipe cards are below. Have a great day!
