Some nights, the only thing standing between ordering takeout or not is the fact that you can throw your dinner in one skillet and hope for the best. Beef skillet dinners have saved me more times than I can count. Because it’s quick, hearty, and usually won’t leave your kitchen in a miserable state afterwards. These are the types of meals that come in handy when everyone is hungry, the day is long, and you just need dinner to work together for once.

1. Skillet Steak Dinner

There’s nothing I love more than an all-in-one meal, especially one that includes a perfectly grilled, juicy steak. The vegetables are placed in a frying pan along with the meat to form a gorgeous dough that is then finished off in the oven. The taste of a date night, the effort of a weeknight. That’s the sweet spot!

2. Steak and gnocchi

Steak bite and gnocchiSteak bite and gnocchi

This was born on a 10-day RV trip where we were cooking all our dinners in one skillet, and it quickly became the best meal of the entire adventure. Tender marinated steak, butter-fried gnocchi, and lots of garlic all in one skillet. It hits the sweet spot between comfort and excitement every time.

When I make steak, I want every bite to pack a punch of flavor, and this recipe hits the spot perfectly. The steak is marinated in a spicy, citrus blend, pan-seared and topped with fresh pico de gallo and sliced avocado. Serve as is or scoop into tortillas. Either way, it’s a win.

This one-skillet wonder is your go-to for those nights when you don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. Using ground beef makes it more budget-friendly, but the creamy, made-from-scratch sauce tastes a million times better than the one straight out of the box. It’s ready in about 30 minutes and comes out perfectly saucy every time.

All the iconic Philadelphia cheesesteak flavors you love, served in a more budget-friendly, weeknight-friendly format. Brown ground beef in a frying pan with onions and peppers, then sprinkle with your favorite cheese and cook until completely melted. Scoop it onto a toasted bun and watch it disappear. Trust me, we’ll all be back soon.

This dish is associated with some of my happiest childhood memories. My father learned how to make it when he lived in Korea and brought the recipe home. Thin slices of beef marinated in soy sauce, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic are seared in a hot skillet until the sauce caramelizes. Serve over rice and it’s sure to become your family’s favorite.

The marinated steak sears beautifully, and the potatoes cook in the same skillet, soaking up all the wonderful juices. It’s a simple, satisfying meal that leaves everyone at the table feeling full and happy.
